Field Experiences I (EDCI 1301) Requirements

Field Requirements Include (but are not limited to):

  • 16 Total Hours
  • Activities as assigned by professor

Placement Applications for Block II and Block III will be available in the Office of Field and Clinical Experiences.

  • Packet includes:
    • Placement Applications
    • Criminal Background Forms (LISD & UISD)
    • Pre-Employment Affidavit (LISD & UISD)
    • DPS Form (Sign & Date Only)
    • TB Tests Results
      • TB Test results need to fall within the following timeframe: ---. Results dated prior to 90 days will not be accepted.
    • 2 Copies of TAMIU ID
    • 2 Copies of Texas Driver's License or ID

  • All due to the Department of Field and Clinical Experiences in order to receive a placement for the --- Semester.
  • * Submitting Placement Application does not guarantee enrollment in Coursework.
  • **Applications may be submitted pending TB results.

Field Experiences II Requirements

Field based experiences include candidates engaging with activities such as (but not limited to):

  • 50 Total Observation hours
  • Participate in group activities
  • Small group instruction
  • Practicing classroom management skills
  • One-on-One student support
  • Presenting whole class instruction

Deadline for Placement Applications and TExES Scores to be turned in for the Spring 2024 Semester: TBA

UISD Packet LISD Packet

  • Packet includes:
    • Placement Applications
    • Criminal Background Forms (LISD & UISD)
    • Pre-Employment Affidavit (LISD & UISD)

    • TB Tests Results
    • 2 Copies of TAMIU ID
    • 2 Copies of Texas Driver's License or ID

  • TExES Exam Results Due
    -All students must pass the TExES Exam(s) in their area of Specialization/Content area to be eligible for enrollment in EDCI 4693.

Field requirements include (but are not limited to):

  • Pre-service training at TAMIU
  • 490 Hours
  • 14 weeks, of instructional classroom field time
  • Full control of class for 3 weeks
  • Turn in their lesson plans to their cooperating teacher on a weekly basis
  • Three evaluations by cooperating teacher
  • Three evaluations by field supervisor
  • Practicing classroom management skills
  • Whole group instruction
  • Small group instruction

Criminal History Background Notice
